Back-End Developer, Malmö
Joint Academy is a healthcare company devoted to science and technology. We have created the world's first digital treatment for osteoarthritis and our vision is to become the global standard treatment for this chronic disease.
As the number of patients receiving treatment through our program is constantly growing and we are launching our product to new international markets, we are now recruiting more people who want to be part of our journey and help us to develop and improve our products.
About the role
As a back-end developer you will be an important pillar in a small agile team, working in close collaboration with front-end developers, product owners, QA and UX/design. You will work with improving and developing our APIs and back-end services, architecture, platform and/or new product features.
The main programming language used in our back-end system today is Ruby, but your general background, attitude and willingness to learn and try new things is more important than experience from specific languages and tools.
We think that you have experience from developing large-scale web systems, in varying tech stacks, beyond basic CRUD-applications. You should have a good understanding of Git and relational databases.
However, even more important is your mindset and attitude. It’s very important that you:
- enjoy working in a team
- are keen to share knowledge and discuss ideas and problem solving with your colleagues
- are open to give and receive feedback, as code review is an integral part of our development process
- realise that in order to learn, you will also fail sometimes
We are very proud of our product and the fact that it helps thousands of people reduce pain and improve life quality and therefore it’s important that you also value quality and are keen to take ownership in what you deliver. We are constantly challenging ourselves and trying find ways to improve, and that’s something that we will expect from you too.
In order to for us to consider your application, you must hold a valid Swedish work permit.
You will get the opportunity to work with a unique mix of people with different expertise, including leading academic scientists, medical professionals and experienced product developers. All our development is done inhouse, in our modern office located in a beautiful building with great views of the city, only 400 meters from Malmö central station.
We can offer a challenging and fast moving environment with interesting technical problems, where each individual contribution really matters.
We value transparency and cooperation, and some additional benefits worth to mention are 30 days of paid vacation, flexible working hours, wellness contribution and the opportunity to workout during office hours.
Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions, we look forward to your contact!
